Hi, John built our kitchen and bathroom cabinets (red oak I think) in late 1994, when Sam Hamblen built our house at 3012 W. Olive St. (our contract was under my then-wife’s name, Rochelle Blumenstein). Then a few years ago, John made a replacement cabinet door for one that had broken, and I also bought a bag of new hinges from John to replace, as needed, the originals that were gradually going out. Funny thing is, I never got around to installing that replacement door or the hinges, I guess just procrastinating until I got around to a serious remodel project, which I am just now beginning.
My contractor buddy who’s overseeing my remodel says we’ll need to remove the cabinet doors and sand them down (we’ll sand the installed cabinets as well) before refinishing them. He asked me to check if you do such sanding, in this case on an entire set of almost 20-year-old cabinet doors that I could bring in. He thought that you would have an industrial sander that could accomplish this much easier than we could with a hand sander, if you do that sort of thing. Please let me know if you’re interested in doing that work.
